Moor Farm Update

Moor Farm and Seaton Burn Roundabouts are critical pieces of local infrastructure, with the current congestion and capacity impacting on local residents and businesses.

Since being elected in July, I have met with the Highways Agency and the North East Combined Authority and worked with Northumberland and North Tyneside Councils seeking improvements to the roundabouts and works through the Road Improvement Strategy.

In December I met with the Roads Minister and following the meeting, I made further representations to her and the Highways Agency.

I have recently received a response and, despite some information that has been circulated locally, the Minister has confirmed that the situation remains the same as it was previously and under the previous government. Moor Farm and Seaton Burn Roundabouts remain part of the Road Improvement Strategy Pipeline and the Government continues to consider this, alongside the other schemes in the Pipeline.

I will continue to highlight the importance of the required improvements and to keep residents updated.
