A fresh start for Cramlington and Killingworth

I’m proud to be from Cramlington and Killingworth constituency. This area is where I grew up, where I got my first job and where I live now. After 14 years of a Conservative Government, it’s time for a fresh start.

Growing up my Dad worked for the NHS, whilst my Mum worked in factories and pubs to put herself through night school, before working at Northern Rock. They taught me the value of hard work, along with compassion and commitment to giving back to our community.

After university, I worked as a 999 call taker. Already the cuts to public services were taking a toll, as we tried to help people across the North East in their hardest moments.

Like so many of people here, lack of opportunities meant moving away. Whilst there I worked on campaigns to improve the lives of working people, volunteered with charities and worked with the police delivering better services for victims of domestic and sexual abuse.

I have never forgot my roots coming back regularly, even getting married right here at Sacred Heart. I moved back after Covid, and now volunteer as a First Responder whilst working in the Co-op movement, campaigning for a fairer economy.

I’m out knocking on doors and listening to people across our communities every week, and I’d love to hear your views on how we can improve our area.
