I’m proud to be from Cramlington and Killingworth constituency.
This is where I grew up – where my family have lived for generations, it is a tremendous privilege to represent our communities now in Parliament.
Growing up my Dad worked for the NHS, whilst my Mum worked in factories and pubs to put herself through night school, before working at Northern Rock. They taught me the value of hard work, along with compassion and commitment to giving back to our community.
After university, I worked as a 999 call taker for the ambulance service, and I now volunteer locally as a NHS First Responder.
I stood to be our Member of Parliament because I know the huge potential that our communities and region have. I am working with a government that I believe can unlock the potential that we know is in our communities, and ensure that they are a fantastic place to work, live and grow up in.
In Parliament, I regularly raise issues that are important here, speaking in debates and Questions, meeting with Ministers and organisations to ensure that I raise the issues that matter to you. My office and team are based in the constituency, and I hold regular online and in person advice surgeries to help local constituents.
I live in Wideopen, as an MP I am required to be in Westminster for several days of the week – happily, my border collie sidekick joins me travelling down to London. It is the highlight of my week coming home, and spending time with people across our communities. So many people and organisations do amazing things here every day, and I’ll work hard to support them.
I’d love to hear your views on how we can improve our area together.
I don’t take a single second of this role for granted and am mindful of every week that passes. I am committed to making them count.
